Tteokbokki
Korean rice cake, also known as “Tteokbokki”, has become a very well known korean street
food that people
must try when they visit South Korea. If you can’t afford your flight to South Korea, no
worries, you can simply make your own tteokbokki at home with a few recipes below and you can eat a
delicious tteokbokki in 5 minutes. So what are we waiting for? Let’s start cooking together!

Ingredients
1 bag of Korean rice cake: You can get it at Korean grocery store such as Hmart or Zion
Tteokbokki Sauce: For beginners - if you are not confident in making your tteokbokki sauce or
you don’t have time. No worries. I got your back. You can buy a ready-made sauce that is
available
at many asian grocery stores.
Instant noodles - It is optional. Some people like to add instant noodles into Tteokbokki
especially when they are with a group of friends. It increases everyone’s appetite and it is
everyone’s
favorite :)
Chopped green onion: 2 tbsp
Sesame seed: 1 tbsp or more according to your preference
2 Hard Boiled Eggs
One bag of fish cake
Two cups of water or broth
Instructions
Add two cups of water/broth into a pan and let it boil
Add 4-5 spoons of tteobokki sauce and half of green onion into the pan.
Now add the rice cake in and let it boil for at least 5 mns. If it’s still chewy, you can leave
for a few more minutes.
Then add the fish cake and eggs in and let it soak completely in the broth and let all the fish
cake flavor come out.
As someone who likes noodles, you can add noodles into the tteokbokii. Leave the pot on for
another 30 seconds and then it’s ready.
Place Tteokbokki on a plate and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. It will bring up the flavor
to
another level.
